Edale’s acceleration service has been selected to be available to a national network of 1300 clean and green firms that are members of the Clean Growth UK platform.
Clean Growth UK is a national university-led business network that catalyses clean and green business innovation and growth. It is a leader integrating research and design capabilities from the university along with commercialisation and investment support to the firms through one to one or multi user mediums (webinars, workshops, etc). The programme is backed by the European Regional Development Fund ( ERDF ) that invests to strengthen economic and social cohesion in the European Union. The ERDF focuses its investments on several key priority areas. This is known as ‘thematic concentration’ and includes Innovation and research; The digital agenda; Support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the low-carbon economy. These themes are central to the Clean Growth UK platform.
Clean Growth UK is led by the University of Brighton and delivered across the UK through in three regional hubs: the University of Brighton’s Green Growth Platform, the University of Portsmouth’s Greentech South and Liverpool John Moores University.
The costs of the advice are heavily subsidised, or in some cases, free to the member firms and support for the firm is gathered from a needs analysis on joining the network. Thereafter a 1-2-1 with an investment coach to put together a programme tailored to the member firm may be realised.
Edale’s expertise and skills will be available to selected firms in three areas:
- Investment coaching – preparing and navigating the investment landscape
- Access to finance – Information and knowledge of different forms of business finance
- Investment due diligence – Detailed examination of the documentation for due diligence
