My husband and I spoke with Lawrie months ago and I am hugely remiss in posting this testimonial for reasons related the query that prompted me to contact Edale in the first place. Based on incredibly positive feedback about Edale, I’d reached out for tax and retirement advice as we were selling our home in the England, buying a new one in Wales, and looking toward retirement under the US Rule of 55 funded largely by a 401k but also UK pensions. As dual citizens (US/UK), we were overwhelmed by the complexity of tax laws and had no idea how to navigate retirement in the UK, but we were also interested in understanding financing options for the purchase of our new home. Lawrie met with us, explained our options, warned us of situations to avoid, and after our initial call, subsequently came back to us with extremely helpful clarification of the Rule of 55. After a quite busy few months, we are only now settling into our new home, and I was thinking about how it was Lawrie who helped us get here. That’s when it occurred to me I’d never written a review.
We simply could not recommend Edale and Lawrie more highly. Aside from his clear knowledge of all things financial, what struck us the most about Lawrie is how kind and genuine he is. In a world where people are increasingly unkind to each other, and particularly to those “not from around here” (wherever “here” is), speaking with someone so considerate, understanding, compassionate, and non-judgmental left a lasting impression on us. The consultation with Edale cost us nothing, despite how very valuable Lawrie’s time surely is. Social impact indeed, Edale far exceed their focus on making a difference. I look forward to working with Edale again for pension planning, investment strategies, and income management.
